Cerec

Cerec is a method of CAD/CAM dentistry for creating dental restorations. Using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing), this process allows dentists to construct, produce, and insert individual ceramic restorations directly at the point of treatment (chairside) in a single appointment, rather than over multiple appointments with labside work in between.

Cerec Crowns Advantages

  • Cerec crowns can be fitted to the tooth/teeth all in a single treatment, as your Cerec crown is designed and manufactured on-site using the latest in Cerec technology
  • Compared to traditional crowns, there’s now no need to have an initial dental appointment, and then return to replace your temporary crown with the permanent fitting
  • With Cerec crowns no impressions are needed. Cerec crowns use a 3D digital scan while conventional crowns need impressions
  • They are aesthetically appealing, with the ceramic/porcelain crown material being tooth coloured
  • It’s an ideal solution for replacing unsightly amalgam fillings, whether it’s purely for visual improvement, or you are replacing cracked, aged, or weakened amalgam fillings
  • With the Cerec approach, we can preserve as much of the structure of your healthy tooth/teeth, therefore taking a minimally invasive approach
  • With Cerec, it provides the ultimate approach in dental restoration and appearance, while maintaining the strength of your natural tooth/teeth.
